Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, has stated that the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) removed the blue verification badges from its foreign ministry accounts. This action by X has drawn a public complaint from Iran.

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, accused the United States of attempting to seize control of Iran's oil resources and divide the country, following comments by an influential US senator.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the operation effectively endorsed piracy. He described it as "the outright legalisation of piracy and armed robbery on the high seas".
