Indonesia’s meteorology agency has issued a forecast indicating that drought conditions in Central Kalimantan are expected to intensify and persist through August.

Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni suggested that Weather Modification Operation (OMC) would be an effective strategy to combat the ongoing fires in Central Kalimantan.

Prabowo Subianto has intensified efforts to combat forest fires in Central Kalimantan, holding meetings and ordering a faster, coordinated response. He expressed confidence that the fires will soon be brought under control.
