About 400 moped and motorcycle riders took part in a demonstration through Helsinki on Saturday, calling for legal moped gatherings and closer cooperation between riders and police. The event followed a police pursuit in Tuusula on 8 August in which a 15-year-old rider was forced off the road and injured. The demonstration began in Tattarisuo in eastern Helsinki, where participants gathered before riding in a police-escorted convoy towards Kansalaistori in the city centre.
